A more affordable way to ship control-line kits into Australia
Back ordering
Why is it worth the wait
Save $$$ by sharing international shipping
Access kits not stocked locally
Support a trial that may bring more control line kits and flying back to Australia
How our back ordering system works:
As a requirement of ACL (Australian Consumer Law) by reading this document we have provided full disclosure of the requirements to purchase a Control Line product via this process.
Step 1: Go to our ‘Back order’ category for the kits available for backorder and purchase your choice via our cart. NOTE: It will be marked as 'free shipping' as you will be paying for the kit only to secure your order. International and local postage will be invoiced separately once shipment is received by Wights.
Step 2: Once we reach 10 purchased kits for back orders we will advise you and place a bulk order with our supplier (Brodak in the USA).
Step 3: Once your kits arrives in Australia we will:
calculate your international shipping cost (by splitting total shipping evenly across all customers)
include the local cost of shipping on to your address
send you an invoice for the total postage
Step 4: Your kit will be dispatched once the shipping payment is received.
FAQ’s
Q. What if you don’t get the minum number of kits ?
No stress! We will keep you updated and if you change your mind while waiting for the target to be reached, you can cancel anytime for a full refund. If more customers take up this option over time the turn around time will decrease.
Q: How long is it going to take?
It depends on how fast people hear about the trial and jump in! So spread the word! We place orders roughly every 6 – 8 weeks, and earlier depending on demand for the kits. International shipping takes about 3 – 5 weeks. Total wait time can vary depending on when your order is placed with us. We will keep you updated along the way. The date of purchase will prioritise you on the list.
Q: Can I cancel if I get tired of waiting?
Cancel anytime before we reach and pay for the minimum order number and you will get a full refund. If the order has been shipped to Australia we’ll refund you the cost of the kit less your share of the international shipping costs once the order is received by Wights Model Aircraft. This keeps it fair for the other customers who participated for maximum shipping savings.
Q. Can we backorder Brodak kits not currently under the backorder category?
Offering this backorder option is currently a trial. The backorder kits listed are under 42 inches in length, which keeps the shipping costs in the lower bracket. If enough customers show interest, we’ll have the volume needed to expand the choice to larger kits for bulk order shipping savings.
With enough support from flyers, we hope this will build momentum,
leading to a wider range of kits and faster turnaround times for our control-line customers.
